NDT

Our Non-Destructive Testing services provide a reliable and efficient means of assessing the integrity and quality of your components without causing damage or disruption to the material.

We offer the most commonly employed techniques of Penetrant Dye and Magnetic Particle Inspection, which together with the ability to undertake formal visual inspection accounts for up to 60-70% of NDT undertaking routinely on new Aerospace and Defence components.

Magnetic Particle Testing (MT): Detection of surface and near-surface flaws in ferromagnetic materials by magnetising them in different directions and using irregularities in the magnetic field thrown up by the flaws to pinpoint their size, shape, orientation and location, using magnetic fluorescent particles suspended in an “ink” flowed over the components surface under a UV light source.

Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT): Identification of surface-breaking defects in both ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic componentsd, such as cracks, laps, seems, inclusions and porosity, by applying a liquid penetrant that seeps into discontinuities and is subsequently revealed through developer application (a process of reverse osmosis), after the components are dried, before being viewed under a UV inspection lamp.

Benefits of NDT

By employing NDT techniques, our clients enjoy a multitude of benefits, including:

Our team of certified technicians possesses extensive experience and expertise in performing NDT inspections across various industries and applications.

  • Enhanced Safety: NDT enables the early detection of material flaws and defects due to manufacture of the components, mitigating the risk of catastrophic failures and ensuring the safety of personnel and assets.
  • Cost Savings: By identifying issues before they escalate, NDT helps avoid costly repairs, replacement, downtime, and potential liability associated with component failure.
  • Quality Assurance: NDT ensures that components meet stringent quality standards, especially in the Aerospace and Defence sectors, allowing for compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
